Unlike the other regions through out Japan, Hakkaido does not have many temples, shrines and other common Japanese attractions. Instead this region is full of national parks and other natural attractions. Goryo-Kaku Fort is one man made structure that could be worth visiting, but the other attractions in this region are all natural and there are so many it is impossible to list them all.The National Parks that all these sites fall under are as follows, Onuma Quasi, Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu, Daisetsuzan, Shiretoko, Akan and Shikotsu-Toya. Within these National Parks are wonders such as hot springs, lakes, hikes, mountains, lookouts and snowfields. With all this natural beauty, no wonder this is a place not only tourists choose but Japanese families choose as well.
